A new building roof deck required a waterproofing system to perform under thermal stress, foot traffic, and exposure. Advanced surface preparation was paired with high-performance bitumen and membrane layers, detailed edge treatment, and redundant quality control to ensure reliability and resilience.

Technical Diagnosis

Deck surface irregularities and porous substrate threatened membrane adhesion. Numerous joints and penetrations increased leakage vulnerability, requiring precision priming and engineered system sequencing.

Thorough cleaning, scarification, and priming of substrate

Application of two layers of liquid-applied bitumen waterproofing

Installation of two layers of torch-applied bitumen membrane with protection and thermal boards

Specialized detailing at all joints, edges, and penetrations
