• The roof was exposed to direct sunlight, thermal movement, and wind-driven rain
• Visible movement cracks, open gaps around pipe sleeves, and expansion joints were present
• The client required a UV-resistant, fast-curing, foot-traffic-friendly waterproofing solution with minimal disruption to warehouse operations
1. Surface Preparation& Detailing
• The roof surface was mechanically cleaned and lightly scarified to promote adhesion.
• All cracks and surface defects were cleaned and prepared for water proofing layers.
• Expansion joints were treated with appropriate flexible membranes integrated within the system.
2. Liquid Applied Membrane – Detailing & Flashing Zones
• A single-component, moisture-curing polyurethane liquid membrane was applied by roller and brush to pipe penetrations, upstands, and metal flashings, ensuring full adhesion and waterproof detailing.
3. Spray-Applied Polyurea Coating – Main Roof Deck
• A hot-sprayed, two-component polyurea membrane was applied over the main horizontal surfaces.
• This provided a seamless, elastic coating with excellent resistance to UV, chemicals, and thermal cycling.
• The coating cured within seconds, allowing reoccupation of the roof within hours.
Systems Applied: Spray-Applied Polyurea Protective Coatings; Spray &Liquid Applied Membrane Systems.
The waterproofing system delivered complete protection against rainwater ingress, thermal movement, and surface wear. All joints, penetrations, and cracks were effectively sealed within the membrane systems, and the seamless polyurea coating provided a long-lasting, low-maintenance roof surface ideal for industrial use.
